Privacy

This website does not use cookies or advertising, and it does not load anything from third parties. It does use analytics that we run ourselves, so we can see which pages are read, which links are used and whether the site is fast. That data is never shared or sold.

Analytics

When you view a page, your browser tells us the page’s address (without any query string, apart from campaign tags such as utm_source), the site that linked to it, how long the page was in view and how far you scrolled, which links or buttons you clicked, the size of your browser window, how quickly the page loaded, and the text of any script error it hit. Cloudflare tells us your browser, operating system and type of device from the request, and your approximate location (country, region and city) from your IP address. We do not store your IP address.

Unless you allow more, nothing is stored on your device. To count visitors, we combine your IP address and browser details with a random value that changes every day and is deleted after two days, and keep only a one-way hash of the result. We can tell that one visitor read three pages today, but not who you are, and not that you came back tomorrow.

If you allow it, we keep a random ID in your browser’s local storage, so we can see that someone came back and how they moved through the site over several visits. The ID is not linked to your name, email or anything else about you, and you can withdraw at any time below, which deletes it.

We keep analytics data for about three months. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, nothing is collected at all.

Your choice

We remember the choice you make here (and in the banner) in your browser’s local storage.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP address and browser type to deliver and protect it. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
